Audrey Medwayosh
Aanii! I am Audrey Medwayosh, Anishinaabe beadwork artist. My family is from the Wasauksing Nation. I am of both German and Potawatomi descent and I am very proud of both. My family was a part of the 60s scoop, and as a result, I have grown up here in British Columbia. Beadwork has been an integral part of my healing from intergenerational traumas, and has provided a close connection to my culture. Above all else, I find beading medicine. Each piece I make is a form of reclamation, resistance, healing, and art. When you purchase one of these pieces, this is what you are supporting. In turn, the pieces I offer to you are imbued with love and with medicine, healing and armour. Chi miigwech for your consideration and for your support. Above all else, minjimendan gimino-ayaawin.
